800 SMEs to be formalised

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Enterprise Development in partnership with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority is set to formalise more than 800 SMEs in seven districts of Midlands province.

In an interview the deputy director in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Enterprise Mr Koshen Munesti said they were targeting to formalise the SMEs by June this year.

“As a ministry we are looking to formalise 800 SMEs in partnership with ZIMRA. We want to train and educate them on the advantages of formalising their operations and logistics have been worked out,” said Munesti

He said participants from Gweru would be trained in the Zimra board room and provincial administrator board room while about 150 SMEs in Shurungwi would be trained at Nichrut lodge, Sungana lodge and at Chachacha centre and those in Mvuma would be trained at the district administrator’s boardroom.
