9 666 common diarrhoea cases and six deaths recorded

A total of 9 666 common diarrhoea cases and six deaths were reported for the week ending September 22, with 4 750 cases in children under the age of five.

This brings the cumulative cases to 267 267 and 142 deaths.

According to the Ministry of Health and Child Care Disease Surveillance Report, six deaths were reported.

Of these, three were at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital in Harare, two at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, also in Harare, and one at Mutoko District in Mashonaland East Province.

The data shows that the highest number of cases were from Mashonaland West and Mashonaland East provinces.

“The provinces that reported the highest number of cases were Mashonaland West (1 461) and Mashonaland East (1 428),” the Ministry said.
