OVER 900 delegates — including exhibitors from Zimbabwe, South Africa and the United Kingdom — have registered for the second edition of the 2023 UK Trade and Investment Fair scheduled to take place at Nyaradzo House in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, England, this month.

Nyaradzo Life Assurance managing director for United Kingdom operations Mr Lordwick Mushawa confirmed they will host this year’s event between September 7 and 9.

He said this year’s edition, running under the theme “Unlocking your value in Zimbabwe”, is expected to have high-level participation due to the diversity of Nyaradzo Life Assurance’s stakeholders.

“Coming after the recently held harmonised elections, the theme for this edition has been aptly chosen to reflect the value creation that we want to impact on the diaspora community,” he told this publication.

He added that Zimbabwe has been regarded as a regional economic hub and a launching pad for both domestic and international businesses for many years, making the trade and investment fair appealing to investors looking to establish themselves in both the Zimbabwean and UK markets.

“The country is heavily investing in trade and infrastructure, particularly in the insurance industry’s rethinking towards financial inclusion and implementation of fintech solutions.

“This year’s fair brings together a number of fintech companies, real estate, property developers, land acquisitions and energy, among many others,” added Mr Mushawa.

He said companies that have confirmed their participation include Beta Bricks, Mukuru, KC Industries, PG Solar, Betterbrands, Homelux Properties, Zimtorque Auto Private Limited, Avelyn Fashions, DBT Properties and Kings City.  Last year, six companies exhibited at the maiden UK Trade and Investment Fair.

“As a business invested in both the UK and Zimbabwe, Nyaradzo is committed to working towards building a stronger economy and developing our partnerships to contribute to the upliftment of both our countries and communities,” he added.

Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the UK, Colonel Christian Katsande (Retired), is expected to attend the event.

“The Zimbabwe Embassy in London will also have a trade desk and tourism officers,” said Mr Mushawa.
