A call to praise and worship

The event, which is pencilled in for April 20-21, will mark the birth of EWOM’s regional expansion outreach programme titled “Call to Worship Africa”.
According to Pastor Charlotte Pike, who is a co-founder of Ebenezer World Outreach Ministry, “Call to Worship Zimbabwe” had expanded regionally with new branches established in parts of Africa such as South Africa, Malawi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Kenya and Nigeria.
The launch, which will kick off at 5.30pm on both days, is expected to be a huge event that will witness thousands of participants from Christians across Zimbabwe taking part free of charge. A worship seminar which aims to train worship teams from other churches will also be held on Saturday at 9pm during participants will be expected to pay an attendance fee of US$3 per head.
In a Press release, EWOM explained that the “Call to Worship Africa” was an annual gathering of Christians who came together from different churches to praise and worship God through music and prayer.
“For most of us who may be asking what ‘Call to Worship Africa’ is all about. This is a lifestyle expressed by an annual gathering of members of the body of Christ from all walks of life to worship and praise their Lord all night,” reads part of the statement. An organisation of EWOM, “Call to Worship Zimbabwe” was first established in 2008 as an annual interdenominational event with the aim of preaching the gospel through praise and worship gathering of Christians across the country.
By 2009 the ministry’s outreach programmes had more than 20 different churches which participated in its annual praise and worship gatherings where different church leaders prayed for the country’s prosperity.
From 2010 until this year “Call to Worship Zimbabwe” had grown in influence, a development, which led to the establishment of “Call to Worship Africa” that will also be launched at the HICC on Friday and Saturday.
According Pastor Charlotte, “Call to Worship Africa” 2012 will be a worship experience that is set to release the glory of God on Christians from different churches.
“This is a biblical trumpet blowing from all the four corners of the world, which calls upon Christians to glorify, edify and manifest the power of God to whom all glory and praise belongs,” said Pastor Charlotte.
Among people expected to attend include pastors, church leaders and ordinary church members.
The launch is also aimed at bridging denominational boundaries, as different churches will come together for two nights of praise and worship.
Based on the second book of Chronicles Chapter Five verses 11-14, the launch will be punctuated with live gospel music from the “Call to Worship” praise and worship team, a gospel musical group that comprises members from different churches in Zimbabwe.
Pastor Charlotte said “Call to Worship Africa” was important for Christians as it aims to restore people back to God through praise and worship.
“Call to Worship Africa is there for the restoration of souls through praise and worship. The word of God said when the praises go up, God’s glory comes down,” said Pastor Charlotte.
