ALICK Macheso’s all-time classic “Shedia” had just passed the point where the singer finishes narrating his story, leaving the impressive guitar work to go for the jugular when the music suddenly went off.
All guys who were on the dance floor to do justice to the beat were not amused and could be seen throwing their hands about in dismay.
It was an unexpected interruption, something akin to biting a stone granule while enjoying a sumptuous meal.
“Ko yave ipi futi machinda? (What is going on guys?),” they all asked.
On rushing inside the house to check what had gone wrong and whether or not someone had thrown spanners in the works, Admire was pulled aside by his landlord and quickly told just how difficult it was to buy a residential stand in the city, let alone building a house.
Throwing parties was a preserve of the landlord, not for lodgers of his ilk, Admire was told straight in the face.
“Do you think I built this house so that you can bring your friends and relatives to throw parties here? You must pick your enemies carefully because I hate living with people who do not understand and appreciate their stations in life,” the landlord said before disappearing into his room.
In a flash the party was over.
