WELCOME to the new era as a boy child. It’s a new era where we are being prosecuted for our forefathers’ sins and ideologies of patriarchy.
It is a fact that our past generations were oppressive towards our fellow Eves, however, today tables have turned. Welcome to the new era whose doors are wide open, full of opportunities from the inside, however, females seem to have a greater share of the luck.
Inside this era are divisions between mostly gender. Our gender has been grouped in a rather smaller room with no ventilation to explore and feel the cool breeze of equality. This era has made some of us feel unworthy as our lives are a constant reminder of the rapists, abusers and murderers we are.

This era has redefined the letter “G” from “GBV”. The “G” for gender has been twisted to suit the abuse against women not realising that violence has no gender. In other words, we are free men but our minds are in bondage. Even the lawmakers have created some laws that deny us our freedom as many of us have been imprisoned despite our innocence. The law itself doesn’t protect us anymore.
Also the gospel of abuse against women has been preached to us numerous times and I must say some of us have been converted. As the boy child, my heart bleeds from the inside caused by the stabs of negativity from the society who label us with bad name.
The society has rejected us and failed to listen to our cries. They say our tears fall from the inside because we are men. It is a pity that our tears are now full in our chests and we can’t let them overflow to the outside so the best option has been suicide. Some seek solace and comfort in substances that get us high, albeit leading to a destructive path.
This letter is dedicated to every concerned individual of this new era. The goal is one, to achieve gender equality.
