A STONERIDGE man, who is suspected to have impregnated a married and paralysed woman, has been assaulted over the allegations.
Michael Chitsungo told H-Metro he was attacked by the mother of his friend, Brighton Cheza, who is the man accused of abandoning his paralysed wife.
Chitsungo has been accused of impregnating Cheza’s wife, an allegation he denies. “Gogo Cheza vakandirova chaizvo nembama pazere vanhu.
“I managed to hold my emotions as well as fearing to be arrested for beating a woman. Asi ndakarohwa mazenya chaiwo ndikachenuka kumeso vachinditi urikurambirei nyaya yekuti wakamitisa muroora wavo.
“It was better to be assaulted for an offence I committed but in this case, I swear that I never committed adultery with Elina Chimbiro as alleged.
“I have since lodged a police report against Gogo Cheza for assaulting me at Southley Park Police Station,” said Michael.
Cheza, a truck driver, is being accused of neglecting his pregnant wife, who was paralysed in an accident when she was on her way to see him, and is now even accusing her of infidelity.
Cheza forced his wife, Elina Chimbiro, 30, to pack her belongings from their home in Stoneridge and sent her back to Mhondoro.
He was accusing her of infidelity.
Her parents declined to accept Cheza’s accusations and, instead, demanded he pays the lobola he hasn’t paid in the ten years of their marriage.
Elina returned home to Stoneridge with her belongings.
Cheza then decided to abandon her.
