Amakhosi continue to search for a player to fill the last spot of their foreign quota.
Amidu – who plays as a second striker – has just completed a fruitful season with Black Mambas back in his homeland, where he was voted one of the best 11 players in the country, referred to as the Soccer Stars of the Year.
The 21-year-old is originally from the Aces Academy – the same club that produced Knowledge Musona, Khama Billiat and Lincoln Zvasiya – and is highly rated back home.
Intelligent, Amidu is also comfortable with the ability to poach goals, which is why he has even been getting call-ups to the senior national team, while he is already established in the Under-23 set-up.
He has been training with Chiefs since Wednesday last week and will continue his stay at Naturena until the Christmas break.
Chiefs still have one foreign spot – the other four all occupied by Zimbabweans – which they intend to fill during the January transfer window.
Prior to arriving at Chiefs, Amidu spent time at Ajax Cape Town but, despite being the best of the foreign players that were on trial there, the club did not want to make a hasty decision as they needed a striker to play right away. – KickOff.com.
