A NEW suspect, implicated in the ABC Auctions US$1.4 million armed robbery, appeared in court yesterday.
Phibion Nyuke was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Taurai Manuwere.
Allegations are that on October 8, at around 1am, Nyuke, together with Kelvin Marimo and Osinege Zvomuya, who have already appeared in court, and four others still at large, connived to rob ABC Auctions.
Trymore Bondamakara is now late after a shootout with police.
They went to ABC Auctions, along Seke Road, armed with pistols and disarmed security guards, Langton Ziromba and Editor Meda, before tying their hands and legs with shoe laces.
They broke into the offices, smashed open six safes, using grinders and explosives, and stole cash and jewellery.
On October 11, CID Homicide received information that Nyuke allegedly participated in the robbery, leading to his arrest.
Police managed to recover three guns, one with an erased serial number and explosives.
He had US$19 657 and R8 730 and jewellery worth US$45 000 at the time of his arrest.
