The incident occurred at around 1pm on October 23 along Herbert Chitepo Street, near the intersection with First Avenue, as the victim, who is from Gokwe District, was walking home from work.

According to police, two of the suspects got out of the vehicle and pulled him inside before one of them produced an Okapi knife and threatened to stab him if he refused to surrender his money.

The gang allegedly searched his pockets as the car continued moving, taking US$23 from his left pocket.

The driver later stopped, and the other three suspects allegedly pushed the victim out of the vehicle before speeding off.

The suspects allegedly forced open the main door using axes before entering the woman’s bedroom, where they assaulted her with open hands and demanded money.
