AFTER having had enough of his wifea��s threats and being turned into a punching bag, a man from Mpopoma suburb realised that only the hand of the law would save him from further abuse.
Jericho Sibanda (45) approached the courts seeking aA� protection order against his wife Bethel Khumalo (38) whom he accused of taking away his happiness.
Sibanda revealed that he no longer knew peace and happiness in his life because of the cheeky woman who is always threatening to send him to Heaven anytime.
a�?I am living in fear because of my wife who is abusive and overreacts to minor things.
a�?There is no peace at home and she has become a threat to my life as she beats me up with different objects.
Anything she picks she just throws at me.
a�?On 15 June, she armed herself with a kitchen knife and was threatening to stab me until I ran away in fear, she might actually take my life,a�? said Sibanda.
In his affidavit, Sibanda revealed that he only enjoyed their marriage for three years and thereafter the woman changed their home into a wrestling pit.
Khumalo is said to be also physically abusing their two children, as a result they areA�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A�A� never happy even when away from home.
Presiding magistrate Abednico Ndebele granted the protection order in favour of Sibanda.
In her defence outline, Khumalo stated that they usually have arguments after searching her husbanda��s wallet looking for money to take care of the familya��s needs.
