Abused husband opens up in court

.
A BULAWAYO woman approached the courts with a plea that her husband should not destroy her phones whenever he’s angry with her.
Sakhile Zulu asked the courts to put a stop to her husband Stranger Msimanga’s strange ways of getting back at her.

“I have been customarily married to Stranger Msimanga for two years and I love him. The problem I have with him is that he always destroy my cellphones. In the period we have stayed together, he has destroyed my three phones so can he be stopped from his abusive behaviour,” said Zulu.

She honestly didn’t understand her husband’s wayward behaviour and little did she know he was about to break down and bare his soul in court.

When Msimanga took to the stand he said it was his way of dealing with his wife’s abuse.

“She is saying the truth that I always destroy her phones. The problem is that she assaults me and at one time I made a report at Magwegwe Police Station and she was detained overnight.

“Thereafter whenever I tried to make reports, police laughed at me saying I was a weak man and the only way I could revenge after being assaulted was breaking her phones,” said Msimanga.

Magistrate Stephen Ndlovu granted an interim order so that the couple maintains peace towards each other.
