An abused wife from Bulawayo has demanded in a civil suit that her abusive husband should be ordered to pay her $3 000 monthly and stop having extra-marital affairs.

More-Precious Ncube, seeking a protection order against her husband Stansilous Ncube told Bulawayo Civil Court magistrate Sheunesu Matova her husband was in the habit of emotionally and physically abusing her.

a?I am married to Stansilous Ncube under the Marriages Act Chapter 5:11 and it still subsists. I am applying for a protection order against him because he has gone violent as he is physically abusing me.

a?On 18 April he locked me outside our matrimonial home despite the fact that he knew my health condition. I cannot be locked outside my house during the night leaving my children under the custody of a maid and worse still I am not feeling well,a? she charged.

She said Stansilous was also accusing her of bewitching him.

More-Precious further prayed to the court to stop her husband from having extra-marital affairs, coming home late and drunk as well as to deposit $3 000 into her bank account every month end.

Asked by the magistrate why he locked his wife outside the house, Stansilous said:

a?She knew that she must not come home late.a?

In his ruling the magistrate ordered Stansilous not to physically, verbally and emotionally abuse his wife before he referred the two parties for counselling.
