THE Bulawayo Sneakers Expo has been postponed to 2027, with organisers announcing that the annual event will not take place this year as they take time to regroup and plan for its return.
The expo, which has brought together sneaker enthusiasts, fashion lovers, creatives and entrepreneurs in the City of Kings since its launch in 2021, has become a notable platform for showcasing the city’s urban culture.
In a statement, organisers said they had decided to take a break in 2026 to reflect on the event’s growth and prepare for its return.
“This year, we have decided to take a pause. We want to take some time to reflect, regroup and plan for the future so that when the Expo returns, it can be everything you deserve and hopefully a little crazier than before,” said the organisers.
The postponement means sneaker enthusiasts who had been looking forward to showcasing their collections, fashion and creativity will have to wait until next year.
Since its inception, the Bulawayo Sneakers Expo has grown beyond a sneaker-focused gathering, incorporating fashion, music, business and creative expression.
The organisers thanked sneaker collectors, fashion lovers, brands, creatives, entrepreneurs, exhibitors, sponsors, DJs and photographers for supporting the event over the years.
“Since 2021, you have helped turn Bulawayo Sneaker Expo into more than just an event. You made it a community,” they said.
They urged supporters to continue supporting local brands and the city’s creative sector during the break.
“Keep supporting local brands. Keep building. Keep creating. Keep collecting. And please … keep those sneakers clean,” they said.
The organisers said the expo will return in 2027, when they believe the time is right.
The event has carved a niche in Bulawayo’s urban culture calendar, providing a platform for people to connect through sneakers, fashion and creative expression.
