Abused wife gets court protection

A MARRIED woman is living in fear of her husband who abuses her physically and verbally.

Patients Mutetwa said she was fed up by Wiriranai Jonga’s violent conduct.

Magistrate Rutendo Machingura granted her the protection order since the husband agreed to having slapped her a couple of times.

During the court hearing, Patients said: “I am afraid of him now as he insults and beats me up regularly. 

She added:

“He drags me outside the house plucking my hair and even calls me a prostitute.

“He takes away my cellphone and damages it whenever he pleases.

“He has four records of physical abuse and violence.”

In response, Wiriranai, said: “We fought the day after l did not sleep home.

“She is very harsh to an extent that she assaults me.

“One day, she tried to assault me with a fist but unfortunately hit our child, that’s when I slapped her.”
