A Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals student nurse was severely assaulted by her boyfriend, who also damaged her property worth over $1 500. Nyasha Claudio Matambo (24) appeared before magistrate Ms Josephine Sande facing allegations of physical abuse and malicious damage to property. He was remanded to August 4 on $50 bail. The prosecutor Ms Linda Gadzikwa alleged that in August last year, Concepción Moying Mba Andeme went to Harare Polytechnic to get her hair done.

She called Matambo to come and pick her up, but he did not show up.

Andeme then decided to go home and upon arrival at number 20 Mother Theresa House at Parirenyatwa, she met Matambo who was fuming.

Matambo’s anger led him to assault Andeme.

It is alleged that after assaulting Andeme, Matambo took her handset, a Sony Xperia, and smashed it on the wall.

It is alleged that he assaulted Andeme with fists on her back and face.

In October last year, Matambo snatched an iPhone 6 from Andeme and went through it before smashing it.

He severely beat her up on the day.

The court also heard that on the same day, Matambo poured water onto Andeme’s HP Laptop, causing irreparable damage.
