THE accomplices of the man who committed suicide on his judgment day were on Wednesday convicted of defrauding businessman Felix Munyaradzi’s company Delatfin Civil Engineering of US$3 million.

Amos Kagona, who was one of the suspects, shot and killed himself at the gate of Munyaradzi’s house in Borrowdale.

His accomplices — Jacob Muyambo and Saymods Mutakura — were found guilty by Harare regional magistrate Stanford Mambanje.

They were remanded in custody for pre-sentence hearing on Tuesday.

Munyaradzi is expected to testify in the victim-based assessment.

It is the State’s case that from August 2015, to March 2018, Muyambo, Kagona and Mutakura teamed up and defrauded Delatfin Civil Engineering.

The State alleges that Kagona and Mutakura posed as car suppliers to Felix Munyaradzi, the Delatfin chief executive.

It is alleged that they started selling commonage stands allocated to the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing by Delatfin.

District Public prosecutor Tafara Chirambira appeared for the State.
