South Africa-based Zimbabwean fashionista Ackim “Ackim” Tshuma is making a breakthrough in the neighbouring country’s creative sector after earning his debut foreign award.
He was awarded a Fashion Icon award at the Influential Man of the Year Awards, which took place over the weekend.
The artiste said it is overwhelming to be able to get such prestigious recognition.

“Receiving the Fashion Icon award is an incredibly humbling and beautiful moment for me. I’m deeply grateful to be recognised for something that has always been such an important part of my identity and creative expression.
“I only wish my grandmother, Flora, could have experienced this moment with me. She was the woman who used to curate my wardrobe and, in many ways, helped shape my relationship with fashion. Her influence remains a part of my journey, and this recognition feels even more meaningful because of her,” said Ackim.
He said focus is now on establishing his brand on a foreign space.
“At the moment, my focus is shifting towards HoA Cosmetics in Cape Town. I’m excited to explore the next chapter, build the brand with intention, and create something that reflects my passion for beauty, style and individuality.
“There’s a lot ahead and I’m looking forward to embracing it with elegance, purpose and authenticity,” said Ackim.
