GOVERNMENT has urged graduates to embrace entrepreneurship, innovation and technology to create employment and contribute to Zimbabwe’s economic development.

In a speech read on his behalf by Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training Minister Tino Machakaire at the Next Step Graduates Conference 2026 in Harare today, Acting President Kembo Mohadi said Government will continue supporting the youth.

“Graduation is not the end of your learning journey, it is the beginning of a new responsibility to apply your knowledge, create value and contribute to national development,” he said.

The Acting President urged graduates to explore opportunities beyond formal employment, including agriculture, manufacturing, mining and technology.

“Employment is one pathway to success, but entrepreneurship, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, technology and other productive activities also offer opportunities to create wealth and livelihoods,” he said.

Acting President Mohadi said the Government will continue expanding youth empowerment, vocational training and skills development, while encouraging partnerships between educational institutions, industry and the private sector.

“Let us nurture a generation that does not simply seek opportunities, but also creates them,” he said.
