“The stage we are in is getting interesting because most of the players that have contracts with Tuskers play in these clubs. They know that their performance here at club level has a bearing on the Tuskers side. The players are giving it their best and cricket lovers can come and watch some exciting One Day cricket. The other thing is that even the guys in the Tuskers B side want to prove that they deserve first-team places.
“As for the ground they have always been ready and the players only returned last week from the festive holiday break,” said Mhlanga.
Emakhandeni will be hoping to continue with their dominance over BAC.
Dumisani Mankunzini will lead the BAC team that has national team star Charles Coventry and Garvin Ewing among other experienced players.
Emakhandeni have the likes of Mbekezeli Mabuza, left-handed opener Tinashe Mhora, spin bowler John Nyumbu, Brian Chari and Thabo Mboyi among other top players.
Promising national team pace bowler Njabulo Ncube also plays for Emakhandeni.
Bottom of the log Queens Sports Club will be at home to Crescent.
Queens have only won one match this season. They beat defending champions Emakhandeni by 24 runs through the Duckworth and Lewis method.
Christopher Mpofu, who is recovering from a back injury, left arm spinner Keith Dabengwa and off spinner Nkosana Mpofu are some of the key players in the Queens team.
Crescent, on the other hand, will bank on Tuskers’ Terrence Duffin and Keegan Meth to lead them.
