GOKWE-BORN actor, Costen Maketo, has promised fans a Valentine’s Day present in the form of a short film.
He is set to treat lovebirds with a 15-minute film titled “My Valentine” tomorrow.
In line with the month of love, My Valentine is centrally about working relationships.
Makeso stars in this project as Nyokoto.
Unpacking the synopsis of the film, Maketo said:
“My Valentine is a love story of a rural guy called Nyokoto, who proposes love to a beautiful young lady through social media.
“The young lady accepts Nyokoto’s proposal and they started dating on WhatsApp and meet each other on Valentine’s Day.”
After meeting in person, the girl gets to know the real man she is dating.
The film was written and directed by freelance journalist, Thomas Faranando.
Cosmake Arts Productions, Mantor Films in partnership with Creative Arts Productions are behind the film.
Maketo said the aim of the film is to educate, as well as bring smiles and laughter to fans.
“We want our fans to forget about sad memories of Covid-19, which led to loss of loved ones,” he said.
Maketo rose to fame as Baba Julie in the film Blood Hands 1.
He has been in the film industry since 1999.
“Although I am a Class 1 bricklayer and pastor, acting has become my chosen career.
“Bread and butter for my family comes from the showbiz industry,” he said.
“Our mission is to work hard and create content that influences positive social change in the community, hence we remain relevant in this field,” said Maketo.
