As 2023 draws to a close, versatile author, scriptwriter, and actress Nonduduzo Ncube has diversified her income streams by venturing into the car-washing business.

“Noe’s Carwash” located in Donnington West (next to Trek Garage), Bulawayo officially opened its doors to motorists this month, marking a significant step in Ncube’s commitment to expanding her financial avenues as an artist.

In an exclusive interview, Ncube shared that the decision to start the car wash stemmed from a desire to meet the demands of her multifaceted life and secure additional income.

“The idea of a car wash emerged from my aspiration to have multiple income streams. Personally, it has always been my vision to diversify, perhaps because I had to support my children at a young age and ensure the well-being of my siblings. I’ve always had people depend on me, which has taught me to be in survival mode most of the time,” she explained.

Ncube emphasised the importance of thorough research before embarking on an entrepreneurial journey, citing it as a crucial step in ensuring the feasibility and sustainability of the business venture.

“I prioritise research as my armour. Without proper research, one can’t fully exploit the chosen path, so I always make sure to conduct thorough research before taking any significant steps,” she added.

Renowned for her roles in “Maliwe” and “Usendo”, Ncube, a social media sensation, has received praise for her new business endeavour, including commendation from art practitioner Gilmore Tee.

In addition to her literary and thespian talents, Ncube also provides equipment hiring services, including projectors and compactors. – @MbuleloMpofu
