AFFIRMATIVE Action Group (AAG) president Dr Chamu Chiwanza will tomorrow address Bulawayo entrepreneurs with solid business plans but lacking funding.
The forum, which is dubbed ‘Entrepreneurship Seminar’ would be held under the theme “New Dawn- Developing a Path to Self Sufficiency through Entrepreneurship” and is a brainchild of the Zimbabwe Congress of Students Union (Zicosu).
Zicosu is the country’s second largest student representative body, with members drawn from across the country’s tertiary institutions.
Dr Chiwanza told Business Chronicle yesterday that the seminar is tailored to mentor youths in the city on issues of personal success and development.
“Today’s youths are a generation of drug and sex addicts and they’ve to learn. We’re trying to have these people learning on personal development like confidence and esteem issues; success doesn’t always come from having money,” he said.
He said this initiative was similar to one called Shift that was being run in Harare. He said both ventures were in support of Zim-Asset and indigenisation and economic empowerment policies.
He said the seminar would present an opportunity for him to select about 15 bankable business proposals that could be refined and developed.
“I’ll also use this opportunity to check on the people I’ve given money in the past, to see how they’ve used the money,” said Dr Chiwanza.
