APOSTOLIC Faith Mission (AFM) in Zimbabwe Domboramwari assembly has been placed under the care of an overseer.
This follows a demonstration by congregants against their assigned pastor last week.
The AFM provincial leadership introduced Overseer Nehanda to congregants on Sunday, saying he would assist them while issues they raised are being ironed out.
Elder Nyabadza, who was sent by the provincial leadership to introduce the overseer, also dissolved the assembly’s board, which worshippers accused of causing discord.
“Church leadership is seized with your matter but, in the meantime, we are dissolving the assembly board’s leadership,” said Elder Nyabadza.
“Overseer Nehanda will be coming here to minister or assign someone on his behalf.

“We want all members to remain prayerful, peaceful and submissive to the leadership and meet next Sunday,” Elder Nyabadza said.
One church member told H-Metro that the local board members had been dictating and gossiping about their sacked pastor.
“We are happy with the dissolution of the local board because it was part of the problem,” said the member.
“Three quarters of the board members are related, so they planned things at home and then came here to dictate to us what they had already discussed and agreed as family members.
“The assembly was being run like a family project, and they are the ones who misled the provincial leadership to transfer our pastor,” the member said.
Members of the dissolved assembly board left in a huff, when the decision was announced, presumably, in protest.
They all refused to entertain H-Metro.
