THE Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM) Budiriro West Assembly lost over US$3 000, which was stolen from its coffers.
The church is now seeking donations, amounting to US$58 000, for roofing.
Two months ago, a church member was accused of stealing the missing US$3 000, which was intended for the purchase of a new church van.
The theft sparked outrage from worshippers who demanded answers and transparency from the church leadership.
Reverend Musundire, the church’s leader, said:
“Everything, whether it’s true or not, should be directed to the spokesperson.
“I will furnish you with details of the right person to give you details,” she said.
The church is now seeking donations.
“We, AFM in Zimbabwe Budiriro West Assembly, are in the process of building a church auditorium with a sitting capacity of 1000 people, which is now at the roofing stage.
“We kindly request your support in partnering with the work through a donation in cash or with roofing material.
“Our target is to complete the roofing by mid-year.
“We have done quotations for the roofing material and labour. The cheapest quotation amounted to a total cost of US$58 333.75, inclusive of VAT, covering steel material and all ancillaries.
“We have asked our church members to assist in sourcing for donations.”
A congregant said there was need for transparency.
“We have a right to know what’s happening. This is our money, our church. We deserve answers.”
