African Union anthem at PSL matches

THE Premier Soccer League will use this weekend’s league and cup competition fixtures as a platform to continue spreading the anti-xenophobia message.The African Union anthem together with the South African national anthem will be played ahead of the Absa Premiership, National First Division and Nedbank Cup semifinal clashes this weekend.

This will be the first time that the African Union’s anthem is played at SA fixtures.

The gesture is aimed at fostering the strong bonds shared by all the African countries and solidarity towards fellow Africans.

The club captains will also read an anti-xenophobia message ahead of kick-off at all the  fixtures.

On Thursday, the PSL joined forces with the Laureus Foundation to spread a message of peace and fight xenophobia.
