In a case brought in terms of the Serious Offences Act, the AG’s Office listed Hamilton Property Holdings, Buyanga and Registrar of Deeds as respondents.
The AG’s Office also wants to block the Registrar of Deeds from effecting transfers on 43 properties, which are subject of litigation at the higher court. The prosecution office is also seeking an interdict against Buyanga and his firm from dealing and ceding any rights connected to or sale or disposal of the houses listed in the court application. Justice Chinembiri Bhunu is expected to hear the application on February 22. In a letter addressed to the Judge president, George Chiweshe by the AG’s office, dated November 1 2012, in reference to case number 2447/12, Head of Economic Crimes Chris Mutangadura said their office had been flooded with a request for intervention from the victims of some fraudulent loan business.
