Aggressive rhetoric in Middle East will lead to war: Medvedev

and called for a constructive discussion of the Middle Eastern agenda.

President Medvedev was speaking at a joint press conference with the President of Germany, Christian Wulff yesterday. “We understand how tense the situation in the Middle East right now is,” said Medvedev, referring to the Iranian nuclear programme.

“As for threatening statements that some country – Israel, or anyone else – is ready to use force towards Iran or any other country in the region – it is a very dangerous rhetoric.”

Medvedev urged the international community to think of the consequences of a military conflict in the Middle East, saying that threats can provoke a war. “We should all take a deep breath, calm down, and continue constructive discussion on the Middle East agenda including the Iranian nuclear program,” he said. – RT.
