PREPARATIONS for the second Chipinge Agricultural Show are at advanced stage with hundreds of exhibitors around the country expected to participate. The show is slated for August 7 to 10. This year’s event is no longer confined to the Ministry of Agriculture but it constitutes all stakeholders interested in showcasing their products.
Head of the organising committee Mr Andrew Murairwa said they were expecting the number of exhibitors to double after successfully hosting last year’s show. He said they had extended their invitations to some exhibitors outside the district to come on board to showcase their products in this age of competitions.
“We are expecting a big show because many players have shown interest in participating in this year’s agricultural show. Everything is going according to plan and the marketing sub-committee has timely publicised the event around the country hence our anticipation of a high turn-out.
“Again our rates are quite favourable compared to those pegged at provincial or national level. We are urging various stakeholders to come and market their products. We have also invited churches, colleges and universities to participate at this event.
“To augment this, the local authority has managed to avail a permanent stand for the Chipinge Agricultural Show. There will be an open space where everyone will be accommodated to showcase their products,” he said.
