AJAX Hotspurs coach, Gugulethu Dlomo, says he is not looking to make any major changes to his squad for their Division One campaign. The Zifa Bulawayo Division Two winners stormed back to the Southern Region Division One following a five-year absence and have now begun preparations as they look to establish themselves in the second tier league.
“We are delighted to secure a place to Division One and we believe we can play a huge part in our plans for our first season back and beyond. I’m satisfied with the crop of players we’re having, meaning to say there are no major changes we’re looking forward to make.
“These players will live long in the memory and forever in the Zimbabwean history books after setting a new unbeaten league record in the 2018 Bulawayo Division Two and earning themselves a promotion to the Southern Region Division One for 2019 season. I don’t think it will be a wise decision to reshuffle a squad that has made so much history,” said Dlomo.
The coach said he never thought he will accomplish the unbeaten record and is now targeting to avoid the same fate that befell the team in 2013 when they stayed for just a single season.
“My team was unstoppable last season and that played a huge part in our promotion. We have no doubt our players can reproduce that kind of form in Division One,” Dlomo said. — @DecoDecent2
