AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes has released a statement addressing claims that he and media personality Bonang Matheba, scandalously knocked boots over a period of five months. The pair were outed by Zinhle Jiyane, who dated AKA for three years and gave birth to his child a month ago. In a blog entry, Jiyane said AKA confirmed he and Matheba had an illicit romance which is said to have begun in Los Angeles at the BET Awards.
Jiyane said she found this out a week before giving birth to her daughter Kairo Forbes. She added she respected AKA for his honesty and would continue to co-parent with him amicably.
But despite Jiyane confirming the affair, Matheba has responded saying she is not involved in a relationship and is taking the serious claims made by Jiyane in the media seriously.
Her team said a comment could not be issued as Matheba’s legal team is handling the issue.
Through his team, AKA said he and Matheba have never been an item.
“I would have preferred this would have been dealt with privately. Break-ups can be tough and emotionally draining for all involved. I would like to add that myself and Bonang Matheba are not an item and have never been, read the statement.
Like Matheba’s the statement failed to address Jiyane directly or her claim that AKA had confirmed the affair – as Jiyane did not state Matheba and AKA were a couple but rather he cheated on her and carried on a five-month affair without her knowledge. – Sundayworld
