Herald Correspondent

The Masvingo chapter of Albinism in Action for Economic Development (Albinism-In-Action4ED) is set to host a major gathering at Masvingo Polytechnic next week, bringing together people with albinism, their families, and the wider community under the theme “United for Inclusion · Together as One!”

The event, organised by the national chairperson, Cde Gerald Mhandu and secretary general Agnes Gurunhe aims to promote equality, visibility, and health for all people with albinism. Attendees will receive free sunscreen lotions, a vital resource for protecting the health of people with albinism in Zimbabwe’s climate.

“The work of Albinism-In-Action4ED is about more than providing resources, it is about ensuring dignity, representation, and equal opportunity for every person with albinism,” said the Cde Mhandu.

“By coming together in Masvingo, we are sending a clear message that inclusion and unity are the foundation of our nation’s progress.”

The gathering will focus on dismantling stigma through education and awareness, highlighting the importance of community solidarity. Organisers emphasised that the event is not only a celebration of identity and resilience, but also a statement of national unity.

The chapter’s motto, “Ensuring Equality, Visibility, and Health for All,” will be at the forefront of the day’s activities, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to advocacy and support.

Albinism-In-Action4ED operates nationally, with chapters across Zimbabwe working to provide essential resources, raise awareness, and foster inclusion for people with albinism.
