Alexio, Sista Flame make a date at Sports Diner

The two talented musicians have shared the stage on several occasions and their chemistry generates a lot of excitement amongst crowds.
Backed by Shades of Black, Alexio is expected to serenade revellers on a soulful journey of non-stop music and dance.

Also not to be outdone will be Sista Flame,  who had taken a long break from live performances, perhaps working on new stuff to be featured on her new album.
Don Gwesa, who is Alexio’s manager, was ecstatic about the show saying revellers were in for a treat this weekend.
“This is not the first time that the two have shared the stage and we expect a lot of fun and amazing performances from them. We are delighted to bring Sista Flame on the bill and we would like to urge fans to come and party with us all night long,” Gwesa said.

In most of his shows, Alexio has often measured up to the task, and often sets the entertainment bar high.
The young crooner, who is enjoying rave reviews following the release of his fifth album — “Tose” — is in the category of a rare breed group of young Zimbabwean musicians, who have remained professional, while delivering top-notch acts.

His zeal for perfection and his level of ingenuity is unmatched.
For a musician who carved his career from a nurtured hobby in 1999, Alexio’s discography continues to get better with each new release. When he released the hit song “Shaina”, many critics did not take him seriously and actually categorised his music in the growing portfolio of “fly-by-night” artistes.

“Shaina” off the album “Kana” became an anthem after it was voted the theme song at the Miss Zimbabwe pageant. Apparently the song featured the talents of the late veteran guitarist Andy Brown as well as the magical touch of Mono Mkundu.
“Kana” marked the birth of his band “Shades of Black”, as he explored the world of live music drifting from the techno-electronic music phase.

However, his second album, “Rwiyo Rwangu”, which carried hits like “Musikana Akanaka”, proved to be better than his first one, and less than two weeks after its release, “Alexio’s sound” was already receiving rave reviews and heavy rotations at public and private events.

His sound embraces a fusion of jazz, rock, reggae, dancehall, rap and contemporary R&B. However, Alexio’s music has been classified as “urban grooves”, a genre that gained a foothold in the country at the turn of the new millennium.

Urban grooves includes elements from many genres, and it has become the soundtrack for a new generation with its own ideas, fashion and lifestyle.
So as the young man makes his grand entry at the Sports Diner, music lovers are assured of pure joy and doses of fun.
