Alick Macheso set to wow fans at Colour Purple

“Extrabasso”, as he is popularly called in music circles because of his bass-guitar strumming skills, is currently riding high with his latest album “Zvinoda Kutendwa” that features the hit song “Tafadzwa” named after his second wife.

Apart from songs featured on the album, Extrabasso who also has a catalogue of hits like “Petunia” and “Shedia” among others, is also renowned for his dancing skills which are complemented by Franco “Slomo” Dhaka.

The Orchestra Mberikwazvo will be supported by Roderick Chomudhara and jiti outfit Venus Crew.
Chomudhara has been on a steady rise since his collaborations with Extrabasso and Tongai Moyo at live shows.

Those who remember will recall Chomudhara from his days at Tembo Brothers where he took over the reins of the band following the death of its leader, John “Mr Chitungwiza” Chibadura.

Chomudhara, one of the country’s finest bassists, is expected to churn out some of the hits by the late legendary musician as well as his own.

Venus Crew, led by Harare businessman and music promoter Karen Madhake, is also expected to thrill revellers at the venue that has become its home base.
