adminAddressing hundreds of people in Raffingora at the weekend, Cde Chidhakwa said although the nation had embraced the draft constitution which allows people whose descendants are from the southern African region the right to vote, it still needed to go through due legal process.
“We appreciate that our people are eager to register to vote. Until the draft is adopted and signed into law people should wait,” he said.
Several people across the country have been going to the Registrar- General’s offices across the country to register as voters but they were being turned away. Some people are complaining that they waste money travelling long distances to register but end up being turned away.
Zanu-PF national chairman Cde Simon Khaya Moyo reiterated that the constitutional process was irreversible and people should wait until the draft was adopted by Parliament and assented to by the President.
