All I have

Estroge Chirowodza : St Marys High School
You can cause me pain and give me problems But it won’t stop me from scribbling this poem This is my life; this is all I haveAnd it’s mine only and I will take to the grave
For this is my gift, all I have

You can torture, curse and try to bring me shame
But you’re not the first so I will not blame
You can never put it off, this is not a flame
But a wild animal you can never tame
It’s a vineyard i love that I will never shave
Ay’, this is my gift, all I have
If it was a plant, surely it would wilt
Thin to nothing like it was never built
But it’s an immortal creation, it can never die
No matter how dreadfully or tirelessly you try
It’s a part of me that the Lord Him gave
This is my gift, and all I have.

It’s my life dear to my heart and so true
Gives me a confidence so pleasant like the sky which is blue
Giving the heavens beauty and sparkle; so it remains new
Without it ‘m nothing, and nothing I would do
This is my strength, it is my breath
It holds my key to wisdom, health and wealth
Bold as Hercules with it I am brave
For this is my gift, all I have
