the provinces showed during the games.
“I am very happy with what I have witnessed here,” she said. “Our sports committee did a splendid job starting with the preparations as everything was in order.
“We come here and all the provinces were punctual, everything was in place and we managed to finish the games in time. The other thing is that we managed to have provinces participating in all sporting disciplines unlike the previous years where few provinces would offer teams in basketball.”
The ZTA president also applauded the spirit of solidarity between the provinces and the level of competition at the games.
“There was a lot of maturity in this year’s games which is very good for us. The officials also showed that they are well versed with their job as there were no complains from the participants.”
The tournament was used to select players who will take part in the annual Southern Africa Teachers Organisation (SATO) Games to be held in Tanzania in two weeks time.
The event was last year held here in Zimbabwe at Belvedere.
Zimbabwe won the event last year while a total of 10 countries are expected to take part in this year’s competition.
