SCORES of imbibers and pleasure seekers from Mutare and beyond will tomorrow (Saturday) converge at Villa Spot in Dangamvura for the Beer and Braai Festival which is back after a three-year hiatus.

The last time a beer and braai carnival of this nature was held in Manicaland was in 2019 when hundreds of people attended the event which ended at mid-day the following day.

Organisers of this year’s edition of the event said the carnival will be a platform for families to merry make.

This year’s event will see an array of deejays performing.
Harare-based wheel spinner Tanaman will lead a host of local wheel spinners who include DJS Famous, Zincyard, Brizz, VJ the DJ, Young Eaze and Chillaz.

The deejays specialise in all kinds of genres, which makes the carnival a potentially-intriguing one.

“Preparations are at an advanced stage and we are glad with the response that we are receiving from various stakeholders. We are expecting a bigger and better event this year,” said one of the organizers, Abel Zhakata.

“We have an array of experienced deejays who can carry the day and the night

“Activities for children and school-going children will also be part of festivities, contrary to people’s beliefs that beer and braai festivals are only associated with boozing and highly attended by adults only,” said Zhakata.

The beer festival concept has the potential to stimulate domestic tourism as scores of people from outside Manicaland are expected to attend the event.

Corporates and individuals running their businesses will have a platform to market their services and products during the event.
