Organisers of the “Call to Worship Global” have said all is set for the 15th anniversary celebrations, which will take place on Saturday in the Harare Gardens.
The event will feature prominent and upcoming artistes, who include Minister Michael Mahendere and South African-based Curt Hardy.
In the lead-up to the event, Call to Worship Global hosted a pastors and leaders’ breakfast meeting last Friday, thatv was attended by over 100 pastors from various denominations and several executives and business leaders, including Shingai Mutasa, Nigel Chanakira, Eddie Chibi and Roy Chimanikire.
Speaking to The Herald Arts, Call to Worship Global vice chairman Pastor Ronald Hillman said he was happy with the preparations, with artistes already rehearsing.
“Everything is set and several church leaders have already pledged their support,” he said.
He said the musical fiesta, which is running under the theme “From Glory to Glory”, is expected to draw thousands of people from across the country.
“The day will begin with Youth Power Praise, a morning-long event featuring gospel rap, Zimdancehall, music entertainment, poetry, drug abuse awareness, career guidance and counselling,” he said.
“The main worship and music festival will be in the evening, featuring renowned and upcoming artistes and musicians from Zimbabwe and the region. Our 15th anniversary celebrations will have something for everyone.”
Call to Worship was established in 2008, initially serving as an annual inter-denominational gathering with the primary objective of spreading the gospel through praise and worship while bringing together Christians from all corners of the nation.
It was later re-branded to Call to Worship Global to reflect its international presence.
The event has over the years witnessed numerous churches coming together in harmony, bridging denominational divides, and fostering an atmosphere of love and worship.
Call to Worship Global has also provided a platform for many musicians and groups to showcase their God-given talent, giving rise to several talented artistes who have gone on to pursue successful careers in music.
In addition to hosting concerts, Call to Worship Global also engages in other activities, such as outreach programmes and training workshops.
The ministry’s goal is to use music to spread the gospel and to unite Christians in worship.
“From time immemorial, music has held the power to unite and bring people together. Worshipping together takes this oneness to another level and we look forward to people coming in their numbers to worship,” said Pastor Hillman.
The Call to Worship Festival has received a lot of support not only from the pastors and Christian community, but from corporates as well.
“We appreciate the endorsement from the corporate world. Many corporates have come through to support us, which has contributed to the success of the event,” said Pastor Hillman.
