All set for Call to worship night

MORE than 60 denominations have registered to participate at the eighth edition of the ‘Call to Worship’ music night that will be held on Saturday at the Harare International Conference Centre under the theme ‘Beyond Worship’.
One of the event organisers, Pastor Charlotte Pike, said the event seeks to provide a platform for people from different backgrounds to come together in unity to experience the presence of God.
“We seek to help local faith based communities to expose, develop and empower themselves through music by providing a platform for them to showcase their talent.
“We are divided by our denominations, where we come from and where we live but this interdenominational experience seeks to unite us all, worshiping and praising God together,” Pastor Pike said.
“We have the blessings of the New Life Convent Church, the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe as well as the Christian Leadership Forum.
“We have realised that there are blessings that come from worshipping together. Psalms 133v1-3 says how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. For the Lord bestows His blessing, even life forever more,” she said.
She added that the focus is to go beyond a night of worship and to usher people into the realm of His Glory where supernatural healing, deliverance and restoration takes place.
“We want to impact lives in a way that lasts beyond the moment, ministering in such a way that the Holy Spirit pours out in waves of revival so that many will receive salvation.
“This event will play a significant role in bringing us together as a nation to seek God for our lives and the generations to come,” said Pastor Pike.
“In this significant eighth year of ‘Call to Worship’, a year of new beginnings, we extend this opportunity to Zimbabweans from all walks of life to join us as we step out of the realm of the possible into the impossible.
“This event will run with a scripture from 2 Chronicles 7 v 14 which says, ‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from the wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land’.
“As a team we intend to support and help local faith-based community to empower and equip Zimbabwean youth through music and worship workshops to participate in church worship teams and to become professional musicians as a way of earning a living.
“We also aim to grow ‘Call to Worship’ into a well established brand within the region and ultimately throughout the continent of Africa,” she added.
Some of the artistes that are going to perform at this year’s event include the Call to Worship Africa choir, Pastors Richard Dube, Stanley Gwanzura, Banele Mandaza, Minister Michael Mahendere, Dudu Manhenga and Janet Manyowa.
