WHAT does the mood of a carnival have to do with a pile of scrap metal from vehicles? Well, the two are going to be married as the fourth Summer Garage Festival takes place this Sunday at Luveve Industrial Site at a place popularly-known as “Emagarajini.”
A plethora of wheel spinners are set to steer revellers to ecstasy and these include DJ Sbago, Vitor Bravo, Emity Smooth, Jaiza, Dooley Ibrahim, House Militia, Something Strange, Fraize, Slim T, Ndoe, Rebellious, Suhnz, BlessFamous, Brent, and Stinah DeSoul.
One of the organisers, Deeper Mr Stripes told Chronicle Showbiz that preparations are at an advanced stage.
“We are almost done with preparations for the Festival and all deep house music lovers are set enjoy themselves as they will be spoilt for choice with our stellar DJ line-up.
“The idea behind the Festival was to celebrate the deep house music genre within the hood. We decided that people could enjoy music, food, drinks and a chilling experience within such a set-up. While cars will be painted, fixed, and serviced, music will be bellowing in the speakers and people unwinding,” he said.
The event brought by Chronicles of House Nation will also promote township tourism as food stalls will be erected by those in the precinct.
The organisers said the end-goal was to have the event bi-annually compared to it being an annual fixture.
