All set for Godlwayo AmaTshitshi Festival

PREPARATIONS are at an advanced stage for the Godlwayo AmaTshitshi Festival, which will be held on August 21 at Chief Sibasa Centre in Insiza District.

The festival is part of the Godlwayo Cultural Association’s Imvuselelo Yamasiko initiative, which seeks to preserve and promote cultural heritage while guiding and empowering the younger generation.

UGogo wamaTshitshi akoGodlwayo, Mangwenya, said the programme places particular emphasis on cultural identity, Ubuntu, inhlonipho, education, health and hygiene, child protection, drug and substance abuse prevention, responsible decision-making and youth development.

“The event will bring together traditional leaders, Government departments, schools, parents, elders, oGogo bamaTshitshi, AmaTshitshi lamaGuqa, cultural practitioners, artistes and members of the wider community.

“This is an important cultural initiative and reflects the positive work being undertaken within Godlwayo to preserve our heritage while investing in the wellbeing, education and future of our children,” said Mangwenya.
