ALL is now set for the much-awaited Zimbabwe Women Football NetOne Charity Shield final that will be played at Rufaro Stadium in Harare tomorrow.Bulawayo outfit Inline Academy and Black Rhinos will fight it out for the gold medals and the winners’ cheque.

An ecstatic womens’ football boss, Miriam Sibanda, confirmed that everything was now in place for the final, with the first ball set to be kicked off at exactly 1PM.

“It’s all systems go now, we are ready as administrators and I am sure so are the teams,” said Sibanda.

The mobile communication service provider unveiled a $75,000 sponsorship package for the inaugural Charity Shield tournament whose final ought to have been held a month ago.

Meanwhile, after more than a year on ice, the Zimbabwe Women’s Football League officially kicks off this weekend with a full fixtures programme.

The league has been in limbo since 2012 despite having received a $3 million sponsorship injection from Marange Resources which was diverted to the national women’s team leaving feeder clubs to the Mighty Warriors reeling in financial doldrums.

They are yet to be given prize money for their 2012 efforts.

“We are kicking off this weekend and I know many people could be asking about the league sponsorship. It’s difficult to sell a product that is non-existent so we should play football first then approach the corporate world,” said Sibanda, elected into office in March.

She is confident that once the league kicks off, her board will be able to court the corporate world to come on board and partner them.
