BULAWAYO Metropolitan Darts League table toppers Railstars’ winning streak was ended by rivals and second-placed Archers on Wednesday.
The game which marked the start of the second half of the provincial league, saw the railways side Railstars succumbing to a 21-18 defeat. Railstars players were in good form.
Charles Widzisa, Railstars’ captain said; “The team played well, unfortunately Archers proved better contenders.”
In other matches Highlanders defeated Zimbabwe School of Mines 20-19 while Maison Nic thrashed Parkview Kanka 30-9 and Support Unit Fairbridge beat gold miners How Mine 25-15, a win which put them on third place on the table.
Lethukuthula Nkomo, a member of the executive committee said he is happy that the league is progressing smoothly.
“We are happy everything is going well, some teams are now gaining momentum after a low start, so it’s getting interesting, we are hoping the league will continue with this fine flow until the end,” he said.
Nkomo confirmed that the PPC Wolves’ match against Khami Prison was postponed due to a communication problem between the fixtures official and representatives of the two teams.
“The match between PPC Wolves and Khami Prison has been postponed, as the teams were notified late of the fixture but the game will be played soon,” said Nkomo.
