All set for Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards

THE organisers of the highly anticipated Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards (PRACA), set for December 21, have revealed that preparations are going well for the awards ceremony that recognises and celebrates outstanding achievements in the arts, community development, and social impact.

This year’s theme for the glamorous community awards is “Celebrating Inclusivity, Diversity, and Creative Expression,” reflecting the organisers’ commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts.

In its fifth year, PRACA has made significant strides by expanding its scope to feature a broader range of categories, performances, and exhibitions that showcase the diversity and richness of Pumula’s artistic and cultural heritage.

Founder and director of the PRACAs, Happy Mpofu said that this year’s event, slated for Pumula North Hall, will introduce a new official trophy symbolising excellence.

“We believe that the arts have the power to bring people together, inspire social change, and celebrate our differences.

As we host this year’s ceremony, our goal is to provide a platform for artistic expression, creativity, and community engagement. We want to celebrate the achievements of our nominees and winners, and inspire others to pursue their passions and make a positive impact in their communities.

By celebrating our differences and promoting inclusivity and diversity, we can build stronger, more vibrant communities that reflect the best of our shared humanity,” said Mpofu.

He added that attendees can expect an exciting and entertaining event featuring live performances, exhibitions, and award presentations. The awards will provide opportunities for networking, community engagement, and celebration.

Meanwhile, reigning Miss Pumula, Ashantia Mpofu, a nominee for Best Model of the Year, expressed her honour at being nominated for the award.

“I feel privileged to be part of a community that celebrates innovative spirit, excellence, and creative expression.

“My nomination is not just a celebration of my own work, but also a tribute to the incredible work being done by so many talented individuals in our industry,” said Ashantia.
