and will see participants taking part in soccer and netball. National Trust for Schools Excellence, which was formed in 1996 and now runs two sports tournaments, are the organisers of the event.
The trust’s chairperson Juliana Sabarauta believes the participation by schools will go a long way in helping develop sport at grassroots levels.
“Our aim is to nurture both soccer and netball talent in rural areas. We have noted that there is raw talent in the rural areas and we are looking forward to exposing that talent as much as we can.
We also urge people from the area and former students at schools to plough back into the community,” Sabarauta said. “To make this event possible we are seeking sponsorship for soccer and netball uniforms, sporting materials, educational materials and building materials which we hope will assist some of the participants.
