The Rushika family sent out an SOS to well-wishers last month to assist him raise the required US$6 000 as they were failing to raise enough money. The trip was initially scheduled for early this month but had to be postponed because of financial constraints.
The former president was accompanied by his wife Francisca who expressed gratitude to all well-wishers for helping them in their time of need and the South African Airways who subsidised their air tickets as the two paid only US$1 046 to Mumbai.
NFZBBF president, Otis Goredema, revealed yesterday that Rushika had left the country with the national association contributing US$3 000 sourced from various gyms and individuals.
