GOSPEL music star, Dorcas Moyo, is bringing together some of Zimbabwe’s biggest musical names for the launch of her 11th album, “Korona Yeimvi”, in Mutare.
The multi-award winning songstress will unveil the album at Manicaland Showgrounds tomorrow (Saturday) at an event expected to attract gospel enthusiasts, sungura followers, and music lovers from across the country.
Sungura heavyweight, Alick Macheso and Leonard Zhakata will be among the headline acts, bringing their celebrated catalogues and distinctive stage performances to the occasion.
They will be joined by Afro-jazz sensation, Feli Nandi, gospel songbird, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Africa Praise, veteran artiste, Hosiah Chipanga, Tinashe Murigo, Cloris Machuwaire, and Mai Anderson, among other performers featured on the event poster.
The diversity of the line-up reflects Moyo’s appreciation of musical collaborations, a tradition that has helped her appeal to audiences beyond the gospel fraternity.

Last year, her “Mugeri Tsvatu” album launch at the same venue attracted an impressive collection of artistes, including Macheso, Zhakata, Suluman Chimbetu, and Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave.
This year, Moyo is building on that momentum with “Korona Yeimvi”, a 10-track project marking another significant milestone in a recording career that began in 2006.
The title, which translates to a crown of grey hair, uses the imagery of aging to explore wisdom, spiritual growth, resilience, and victory through faith.
Moyo said the project draws inspiration from Biblical teachings about growing from spiritual infancy into maturity.
Scriptures, including 1 Peter 2:2, Hebrews 5:12, 1 Corinthians 13:11, and Proverbs 16:31, inform its central message, encouraging believers to deepen their understanding of God as they navigate life’s stages.

The title track, alongside songs such as “Mazita”, “Warikava”, and “Rurimi”, forms part of a collection intended to nourish listeners spiritually while encouraging reflection on everyday life.
In an earlier interview with our sister publication, The Herald, Moyo described the album as one of the most powerful offerings of her career, expressing confidence in the sound she developed alongside her backing group, Heavenly Melodies.
Her manager, Peter Madondo, also described the project as a step forward in lyrical maturity, emphasising spiritually nourishing and socially relevant messages.
One of the project’s major talking points is Moyo’s collaboration with Feli Nandi, an artiste whose Afro-jazz identity brings a different musical dimension to the gospel diva’s sound.
Macheso’s presence is equally significant, given the relationship between the gospel musician and artistes from the sungura fraternity.
Their participation strengthens the album launch’s appeal to audiences who might not ordinarily attend gospel music events.

For Mutare, the occasion presents an opportunity to showcase its vibrant entertainment culture while attracting visitors and music enthusiasts to Manicaland.
Moyo’s journey has been defined by consistency, with “Korona Yeimvi” following a string of releases that includes “Mugeri Tsvatu” (2025), “Mvere Dzabvepi”? (2024), “Mhanza Haisekwe” (2023), “Bvudzi Rangu Ramera” (2022), and “Bvisai Marara” (2021).
Her annual album releases have helped her maintain a strong connection with followers who look forward to fresh music and messages of hope.
Saturday’s gathering is expected to offer more than the unveiling of a new body of work.
It will celebrate a career built on faith, discipline, collaboration, and a determination to keep raising the bar.
With an impressive cast of performers lined up, the stage is set for Mutare to experience another major musical gathering.
