Dendera musician Allan Chimbetu will be in Gokwe today for a once-off family fundraising event courtesy of Dream Lives for Africa.
Scheduled to take place at the Leisure Lounge at Gokwe Centre, the veteran artiste is set to share the stage with DJ Tsunami and Paxtee among other local artistes.
Event organiser, Kaitano Dube said the event is meant to raise funds for charity.
“We have a number of activities lined up. The main attraction will however be Allan Chimbetu who has kind of become a partner in this initiative,” said Dube.
He said proceeds from the function will be channeled towards charity.
“We have disadvantaged people in rural Gokwe and we seek to improve their livelihoods by providing educational support to the orphaned and vulnerable children.
We seek to build homes for the elderly and assist poor families in general from the Gokwe area,” he said.
Dream Lives for Africa Trust is a nonprofit making organisation formed by Khumbulani Ndlovu, who is now based in the United Kingdom. It seeks to empower the vulnerable from his own home area.
This is the second such event after the first one which featured yet another Dendera artiste, Tryson Chimbetu in 2016.
