Mr Charles Houdart said Kunonga had come up with the idea as a way of paying tribute to his former band mate.
“Kunonga approached me and said he had a project to pay tribute to Adam Chisvo since they played together, so he considered this as a way of giving a hand to the Chisvo family,” he said.
“Tickets will be going for US$15 and all the proceeds will go to the Chisvo family and as Alliance Francaise we are very excited to be part of this good gesture to the family of one of the best mbira icons the country has ever had.”
Mr Houdart said when he was still alive, Chisvo had played joint concerts with Kunonga at Alliance Francaise making tonight’s gig a must attend.
He said the concert would also afford Masike an opportunity to play some of her new songs.
Chisvo died in July last year at the age of 48 and is survived by a wife and three sons.
During his time, Chisvo played with Oliver Mtukudzi, Victor Kunonga, Chiwoniso, Taku Mafika, Willom Tight, Charles Summerfield, Busi Ncube and many others.
